The Aqua One AquaReef Series II 195 Marine Set contains a revolutionary marine filtration system incorporating a refugium section and top up reservoir. All plumbing is included to make set up easy and hassle free.

Further, the Aqua One AquaReef Series II 195 Marine Set features a 2-stage filtration system; a wet/dry filter with a protein skimmer. The wet/dry filter contains bio-balls that provide a surface area for the bacteria while the filter sponge removes particle waste and helps clarify water.

The large space within and between the bio-balls as well as the partial elevation above water level also allows oxygen to be drawn from the surrounding air. This means they will not deplete the oxygen content of the aquarium water as some other biological filter media can.

Finally, the patented protein skimmer uses foam refraction to remove protein-based organics from the water before they end up as dangerous nitrates. This is, of course, a vitally important process when maintaining any aquariums that house delicate fish species – especially marine or coral reef tanks. The filter also features a flexible duckbill outlet to return water to the aquarium.

Further, a chiller can be added to the filter system without the need for extra pumps. The flow is also easily diverted from the return pump as the return flow is within the rated range of a correctly sized chiller.
